Bernice J. Scott,age 87, of Brown City, passed away Saturday December 9, 2017 in Marlette Hospice, Marlette. She was born May 25 1930 in Sandusky, to Ervin and Nellie (Sanders) Brown. She married Walter Scott on October 25, 1952.

Bernice graduated from Sandusky High School in 1949. She worked at Quality House of Marlette sewing curtains for years then Explorer Mobile Homes out of Brown City until she retired. Bernice loved to grow a garden and do her own canning. She took pride in making all of her children’s and grandchildren’s clothing and did quilting until shortly before her death.

Bernice is survived by her children, Randy (Lynn) Scott, Barry Scott, Ginger (Bill) Haynes and Julann (Michael) Abela; grandchildren, Amber Francek, Rodney Duckworth, and Craig Duckworth; two great-grandchildren, Liam & Addisyn Francek. She is also survived by sisters, Beulah Parraghi and Janet Bushlen.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Jane and husband, Walter Scott; sisters, Marilyn Brown, Elva Snear, Lavone Ashworth, Norma Fisher; brothers, Ronald Baldwin and Arnold Brown.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Carman Funeral Home in Brown City with burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
