Peck drops crossover match

DRYDEN – The Peck Pirates went on the road Thursday and lost an NCTL crossover contest in volleyball to the Dryden Cardinals, 3-1 (16-25, 25-15, 21-25, 20-25).

Coach Lisa Smith of the Lady Pirates, despite the loss, felt her team played well.

“The team played their best game of the season,” noted Lisa Smith, Peck head coach. “Last night, all the girls were communicating very well….. and the hitting attacked the ball to Dryden’s open holes in the back court.”

Abbey Bullis had a strong night in the back for Peck with 27 serve receptions and 33 digs. Kaylee Ureel and Cherokee Johnson added 22 and 15 digs, respectively. Other stat leaders were Anna Dhooge with eight kills, Casey Light seven kills, Morgan Winiarski with 17 assists, and Aubryn VanConant with four aces.
