Markey awarded scholarship
     Megan Markey, a Sandusky High School senior has been selected to receive the 2012 Celeste Jensen Memorial Scholarship. Sponsored by the Sandusky Community Hearts, the scholarship is awarded annually to a student who exhibits outstanding community service.

A new Franklin!
     Brian and Shelby (Davies) Franklin of Marlette are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Danika Rae Franklin. Danika was born April 23 in Port Huron Hospital. She weighed 8 pounds 1 ounce and was 21 inches long. Danika was welcomed by her sisters, Brookelynn Faith and Addison Elora.

      Sandusky High School seniors plus some other students rode tractors to school last Friday in what has become the annual Tractor Day, marking the last day of school for seniors.

Sandusky students win awards
     Eighteen Sandusky students at the middle and high schools, grades 7-12, competed at the 2012 Michigan Social Studies Olympiad May 5. All students finished in fourth place or higher in their respective events. Both the middle and high school quiz bowl teams advanced to the playoff round, and then to the final four, before falling in consecutive matches.
